“I and Thou” is a photograph I made of two water lilies that I grew in our back yard. Each lily only blooms for 3-4 days and it is rare to get two blooms simultaneously due to their different growing cycles. This image reminded me of the Martin Buber book I and Thou that a good friend introduced me to several years ago. The book proposes that meaning in life is found through relationships. This concept applies to all of my photographic compositions as I am always attempting to reveal the relationship between visual elements.
