    Is this picture an eclipse?

Yes. This is a photo I made down in Oregon in an area along the “path of totality”. I put my camera on a telescope to record the eclipse just as it was starting. Right before that I had photographed a bluebird on a juniper tree. As the sky darkened and the birds got quiet and the air temperature dropped by 10 degrees I realized that the bird and I were equal in our significance to the universe. Afterwards I decided to make this composite image of the eclipse and the bird as my personal testimony to the awe inspiring experience of being their together.
