We woke up to more snow today. A lot of snow. The house is a mess from construction that is almost wrapped up. Things seem to get messiest right before they are buttoned up back in place.
It’s hard to believe I am going to be on a sailboat in two weeks. With all the snow I wonder if I will even get over the mountain pass to the coast!
I made this digital composite image a few years ago while spending a winter weekend up at Priest Lake. I used a ship in a bottle that my brother gave me once. It is the only gift I ever got from him after he moved away. I was really touched by the gesture. I am glad I made this image because one day the bottle dropped to the floor and the ship broke inside. This is a wonderful reminder of that memento and memory.
The snow continues to fall but I am off to meet a friend at a lecture about the botanist David Douglas.
Be safe out there!
Ira
