Simplicity

Posted on December 8, 2023December 24, 2023

I was watching a youtube tutorial on a simple flower arrangement that reminded me of this image I had made in my studio downtown a few years ago using a wooden studio camera. Sarah and I love wine and flowers and so I just made this image from one of our empty bottles.

It was really just a test image to see if the 5×7 enlarger I had converted to a LED light source was working properly. I used a sheet of x-ray film again for this test and I am always pleasantly surprised by the imperfections that seem to arise in the background of every image. In this case the vertical banding of light and dark values on the solid gray backdrop. Anyway, it was fun to come across this image again today.
