Childhood Memories

Posted on December 8, 2017
A photo of two boys reading a picture book while laying on a bunk bed.
Big brother reads a story at bedtime. Spokane, 2004

This image brings back so many memories, both good and bad. I made this image one night while my son was reading a story to my nephew who had just come to live with us from California. He was only 3 at the time but was already wired for destruction. A month later my son’s mother decided to divorce me and two year’s later after immense struggle my brother returned to our lives to take his son home with him. I am so grateful and heartbroken when I think of these memories. I think this image helps me to remember that I did my best.
