Street Photography

“The spirit of intent must be sufficiently humane to warrant the intrusion.”

Paul Strand

This morning I woke up early. Getting my website and image catalog organized has me extremely excited. I feel like I have finally found the system that works for me. I am getting images sorted into categories like a person who is sorting a card deck into suits.

As I was updating my video projects page I re-watched my episode about street photography. I feel so honored that people give me permission to make photographs of them like the man wearing the furry slippers with his dog behind him.

Back in October of 2019 I shot a couple of short rolls of film to test out some old compact 35mm rangefinder cameras in my collection. I made this flip book this morning of my favorite images. I had scanned the images while they were still in their negative sleeves so the dust is all there. I think in this day of digital perfection I kind of like the analog aesthetic.

If you haven’t watched my video about street photography and these cameras here’s your chance!

Happy Saturday!

Ira
