Christmas Eve

Posted on December 24, 2023December 24, 2023

Today is Christmas Eve and we are continuing a long tradition of taking my parents to Clinkerdaggers for dinner before church. This will be the first Christmas without my father. Google photos created a memory for me and posted this image of my father I had taken on my cellphone from December 24th, 2018.

Last year I took my father to the hospital as part of the long journey to his passing. Again my phone reminded me of this with a memory of the cell phone photo I made on December 23rd 2022 from the cardiac center at Deaconess hospital.

These are poignant memories. As I relive them, I think of the kindness of restaurant workers and medical staff. I think of candle light services and I think about love and hope for the new year.

Merry Christmas,
