Wedding Celebration

Posted on August 9, 2024August 9, 2024

Last weekend I had a first experience serving as an officiant for a wedding. My dear friends Tim and Genevieve asked me to marry them. I felt a tremendous responsibility to come up with words that were meaningful for not only them, but also for their children, extended family and friends.

I got ordained via an online website. It was super easy but I took the responsibility seriously.

Tim’s family came up from New Orleans and the wedding was a blend of PNW and Southern culture. We learned about the 2nd line march from the reception to the last bar of the night to the sounds of dixieland jazz. Sarah and I didn’t get home until after 1am.

The wedding was really a week long event that featured a trip to Walla Walla. I made these two photos of the vineyards near the Canvasback tasting room.
