Topic: How can photography be creative?

Description:  From the first announcements of the invention of photography in 1839 in France and England there has been fierce debate as to whether or not photography could ever be a creative artform due to its inherent limitations of being a mechanical recording device.  In this talk I will give a brief overview the the history of photography and discuss opportunities for creative expression using a camera.  The talk will include a discussion about my current work that combines modern digital technology and 19th century historical photo-chemical processes.

Location: Helix Tasting Room – 824 W. Sprague Avenue, Spokane Washington.

Time: 6pm
