Paper Sculpture

It never fails. If I am stuck in a creative rut I can always return to the basics and reinvestigate design elements and principles. Today I was thinking about texture and emotion and decided to grab a piece of paper towel and scrunch it up in a fit of enthusiastic emotion. I dropped the wad of paper down on black piece of focusing cloth and made this image. I was startled by what I saw. It reminded me of a profile of a wizard. I like the idea of exploring how a physical emotion can be interpreted through fabric and kinetic energy. I think it might be worth doing more of these in the future.
