Ikebana Experiment #1

Today I experimented with making a simple flower arrangement in the studio based loosely on research I’ve been doing on Ikebana.

Ikebana is a Japanese art form for flower arrangements. What I have taken from this research is an understanding of the use of proportion and line based upon the width and height of the pot the flowers are arranged in.

I plan to continue exploring these compositional rules in the studio and see where it leads me.
