Today I am continuing to work on my series of imagined night scenes in Spokane with this image of the Lincoln monument located downtown. I call these imagined images because I am photographing these scenes in full daylight and then editing them with digital brush strokes to simulate a night scene to evoke the mood I am aspiring towards.
As it is Memorial Day I thought this image would be suitable for the occasion as the first observance of this holiday was in May of 1868. The origins of this holiday for remembering fallen soldiers comes from the American Civil War.
