Connections

I came across this image in my archives as I was moving files on to a new 20 Terabyte drive. I remember taking the photo while on a field trip to Turnbull last spring. I was experimenting with shallow depth of field on my Sony RX100 VII travel camera. I was seeing how well I could emulate shallow depth of field that I typically make with a 50mm lens set to f/2.8. The Sony only goes down to f/4 so I tried using the longer 200mm focal length to get similar results. I think the results are interesting and somewhat satisfying. The image feels like a cross between a bone x-ray and a botanical study.
