Springtime is here. It was only 35 degrees as I left for work today but the air is different in April compared to December. In the winter months 35 degrees is colder because even when I stand in the sunlight there isn’t much warmth. This morning it was cold in the shade but when I stood in direct sunlight the rays warmed me.
I took my older Nikon D610 with my less expensive 50mm f/1.8 lens for a quick demo. The “Nifty Fifty” is my favorite lens for 95% of my work because I can take farily closeup photos of nature without having to rely on a specialized macro lens. The blossoms are out and I gave a demo of photographing them with a variety of aperture settings from f/16 down to f/2. I have done this many times over the years and I always come back go f/2.8 as being my favorite aperture for flowers.
