Spring

Posted on February 20, 2025February 21, 2025

It snowed again last night. This morning the birds were signaling to me that spring is coming. I took out the dog and I was treated to a chorus of Turkeys, Chickadees, Nuthatches, and Wrens. Murdoch was so excited that he was jumping up and down in the snow like a rodeo bronco.

I switched back to wearing a vest instead of a jacket. I can just feel the warmth building in the air even though the roads were slick with black ice.

It happens every year like this. The Robins show up in February to eat the fermented mountain ash berries and bounce around drunk from branch to branch and then we get a cold snap and more snow.

I made these photos up along the lakeshore drive next to Priest Lake last weekend.
