I made this photograph using a photographic process from the 1850’s. My wife and I love wine and we visit Walla Walla a couple of times a year to stock up. With every bottle we open we remember the story of the winery and celebrate the wonderful time spent together.
My colleague Dr. Greg Roth has been teaching me this historic process and it seemed fitting to combine two of my favorite pastimes into one image. This is part of a new affinity collection of images where I am creating wet plate photographs of the empty bottles of my favorite wines.
